NAWHC First Monday Roundtable

To Improve the Work Outcomes of Employees with Common Mental Health Problems

Focus on Functioning

Monday, October 5, 2026

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM CDT

Common mental health problems can have a significant impact on employees' ability to function effectively at work, contributing to absenteeism, presenteeism and work disengagement.

This First Monday Roundtable will explore the connection between mental health and workplace functioning, including why improvement in clinical symptoms does not always result in full functional recovery or improved productivity.

The discussion will examine approaches that combine clinical care with work-directed support to help employees navigate workplace challenges, improve functioning and transition more successfully from patient back to employee.
